Helden Adaptors Good For More Than A Quarter-Century

Posted on 01st May 2004

Black & Veatch has shown its confidence in the dependability of Helden flange adaptors by specifying them for the Ajman sewage treatment project.

The company is engineering procurement and construction contractor for the programme - the Middle East’s first urban wastewater concession - and a lead partner with Thames Water in the new utility company created to build the system and operate it for 27.5 years.

Three hundred Helden adaptors in diameters from DN100 right up to DN900 are being used at the treatment plant in valve chambers and for other critical connections between steel, GRP and PE pipework.

The 49,000 cubic-metres-a-day works and its associated 250 kilometres collection network will serve 260,000 customers who until now have had to rely on septic tanks.
