UltraGrip Amplified & Dismantling Joint - County Durham & Tees Valley
Viking Johnson has supplied UltraGrip Amplified DN700 & DN800 couplings and flange adaptors along with various sized Dismantling Joints to Farrans Construction for the Tees Pipeline Project for Northumbrian Water Group (NWG).
The pipeline spans approximately 57km (of which the current phase is 34km) and is designed to enhance water quality, resilience, and operational efficiency within the Tees & Central Networks. It will allow the abandonment of several very old large diameter trunk mains within this area of North east England.
The new infrastructure will link Water Treatment Works (WTW) with service reservoirs with a crossing 12 metres beneath the River Tees. Once completed, the pipeline will support and service Barnard Castle, Darlington, and Teesside, strengthening the overall reliability of the water network. Viking Johnson UltraGrip restrained fittings have been installed onto ductile iron and steel pipework along many sections of the route. They are rated to 16 bar - ideal for large utility projects that are either refurbishment works or new lay providing very high construction tolerances which help meet the need to align mains precisely.
