Manila Water’s decision to switch from PVCu to PE as its preferred pipe material has brought about a change in the products it sources from pipe joint and repair specialist Viking Johnson.

\n

\nThe Philippines water company’s latest annual supply contract specifies AquaFast couplings and flange adaptors in place of the MaxiFit range it previously used.

\n

\nAquaFast couplings and adaptors are designed for both polyethylene and PVCu pipe connections, including PE/PVC transitions. The MaxiFit is a wide tolerance range suitable for use with PVCu, steel, ductile iron, cast iron and asbestos cement pipe materials.

\n

\nAquaFast flange adaptors, with their progressive gripping and sealing technology, are being used extensively for connections to valves and other flanged fittings. There is no need for specialist tooling (simply a spanner to tighten the bolts) and the fittings can be installed in all weathers and site conditions, bringing the benefits of mechanical fittings for making retrofit connections in PE pipe.
