The perfect solution for passing pipe into and through walls and structures |
 |
|
| |
Wall Couplings are part of the Dedicated range from Viking Johnson. Viking Johnson’s Wall Coupling turns the complicated process of passing pipes through concrete walls into a single operation. Wall Couplings are able to connect steel, ductile iron, G.R.P, PVCu, cast iron and concrete pipes. |

The Wall Coupling is installed in a concrete wall by holding it between the shutters before pouring concrete. This eliminates either the normal two-stage procedure of leaving a "box-out" in a wall or the expensive cutting and patching of formwork to cast the puddle-pipe in at the initial pour. Use of Wall Couplings over traditional methods not only substantially reduces the total installed cost of wall penetrations to the Civil Contractor, but also ensures leak tight bonds between concrete and cast in pipes, an essential attribute in water retaining structures. |

In addition, the use of a coupling end on the outside wall face acts as the first flexible coupling to the pipeline entering a structure, thereby reducing the number of Viking Johnson couplings in the standard ‘rocker pipe’ configuration required to accommodate ground settlement. |

Taken together, all these benefits offer significant savings on installed cost and programme time, especially where a large number of through-the-wall joints are involved, for example in a gravity treatment works. | |
